Yankees Rally Late To win 3rd straight vs Angels

The “Never Say Die” Yankees of 2019 did it again last night. New York inched their way back against the soft part of the Angels’ bullpen scoring twice in the 6th inning and three times in the 7th inning to tie it up. It was not CC Sabathia’s night as he struggled early giving up 3 Home Runs but maintained his composure in 5 innings of work with only 3 K’s. Unfortunately, Sabathia fell 3 K’s shy of reaching 3,000 strikeouts for his career. The main focus was not the stats but to keep the team close enough to tie the game or go for the 6-5 win over the Angels.

D.J. LeMahieu went 2-for-4 and drove in a season-high 3 runs that included the go-ahead run in the top of the 9th inning. Also, Tyler Wade had a two-out single along with a stolen base to get in scoring position for the winning run.
