Just because Rob Gronkowski un-retired from the NFL to join the Bucs on Tuesday, doesn’t mean his commitments to the WWE are over.
Earlier this month, the famed tight end was crowned the 24/7 champion at WrestleMania 36.
Sending a congratulatory message to their star, the wrestling company reminded him, “Per the rules of the 24/7 title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from #TomBrady…anytime, anywhere.”
Bleacher Reports notes that the WWE hasn’t stripped Gronk of his title, so perhaps he might still step into the ring.
After all, how great would it be to see Tom Brady pin Gronk in the endzone to become the new 24/7 champ?! Oh just imagine the possibilities.
What do you think of Gronk’s return? What would a partnership between the NFL and WWE look like?
