NFL superstars aren’t holding back from attacking the league.
Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack, along with a long list of other players, used Twitter on Sunday to call out the league for its failure to have a plan in place to keep players safe from coronavirus during the upcoming season.
Other big names like Patrick Mahomes, J.J. Watt, and Deshaun Watson all posted basically the same message with the #wewanttoplay hashtag.
Mahomes tweeted that the league needs to get the “right protocols” in place ASAP so they can feel “protected playing the sport we love.”
Watson tweeted, “It’s disheartening to hear the NFL is unwilling to follow the recommendations of their own experts regarding player health and safety.”
Saints QB Drew Brees also got in on the action saying, “If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there is no football in 2020. It’s that simple.”
Rookies are slated to report this week to training camp.
The NFL has had several months to try and get new safety protocols in place, why do you think it’s taking so long? What ideas do you have to get the season underway as safely as possible?
