U.S. Open Venue To host 350-bed Temporary Hospital Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

The U.S. Tennis Association told Reuters that part of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City will turn into a 350-bed temporary hospital beginning Tuesday.

The Louis Armstrong Stadium, which is apart of the Tennis Center, will be used to prepare meals.

USTA spokesman Chris Widmaier told Reuters “We’re here to help, no two ways about it.”

New York City has already faced nearly 1,000 Coronavirus-related deaths.
