Officials in Miami are crediting a palm tree with saving the life of a two- year-old girl after she fell from fourth-floor window of an apartment on Monday.

While many of the details regarding the situation are not currently available, authorities say that once the child fell out of the window, she fell through a palm tree which helped to slow her fall. The child then landed in some bushes.

When fire rescue arrived at the scene, they found the girl being cradled by her uncle.

Miami Police Cmdr. Freddie Cruz told WPLG that they are working to determine how the child fell out of the window and if her parents bear any responsibility.
