After a year of speculation, rumors, and “Tank for Tua” talk, we finally reached the finish line last night. And it was well worth the wait.
Tua Tagovailoa is the newest quarterback of the Miami Dolphins to the delight of many Phins fans. For most, this was a year in the making, for others, they think it was a mistake.
I’m here to tell you that there is a right answer here, and the Dolphins nailed it.
Picking Tua with the 5th pick of the draft would be a steal in any other scenario, but because of the hip injury, (that he is fully recovered from and cleared by numerous doctors), people got all skittish and decided that Justin Herbert of Oregon would be the better choice.
Wrong.
In case you forgot how great this kid is, go back and watch some tape of any Alabama game from the past two years. It speaks for itself, you don’t need me to tell you. But, spoiler alert, he has incredible skill throwing the ball and amazing pocket awareness to go along with an inherent ability to read through progressions and make the right throw.
But that is neither here nor there.
So I hate to tell ya Dolphin haters, but the wait is over and the Phins just got their franchise QB!
