A top medical group in Japan has joined a growing chorus of people who want the Tokyo Summer Olympics canceled as the country continues to battle a spike in coronavirus cases.

The Tokyo Medical Practitioners Association said hospitals already “have their hands full and have almost no spare capacity.”
The group said it “strongly suggests” there should be no Games this summer.

The Summer Olympics were postponed last year because of coronavirus and are now scheduled to start July 23.

Organizers in Florida had previously offered the use of their facilities to the IOC in case something like this took place. It will be interesting to see if the games are moved or even played.
