Tennessee has fired head football coach Jeremy Pruitt after an internal investigation into alleged NCAA recruiting violations.
The university announced Monday that Pruitt was fired with cause, and that AD Phillip Fulmer will retire.
The 46-year-old Pruitt went 16-19 in three seasons and went 0-9 against SEC rivals Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
It is also being reported by the Dan Patrick show that Tennessee recruiters would bring McDonald’s bags full of money to entice players to sign with the school.
Rumors are now swirling on who may be the replacement, but names like Peyton Manning and Jason Witten have been floated around.
Do you think Pruitt is being fired for the violations, or for not winning enough?
