We can now add the phrase “cover star” to the growing list of accolades for Baltimore Ravens quarterback and South Florida native Lamar Jackson.
He will appear on the cover of this year’s version of the “Madden NFL” video game.
Jackson shared the news on Twitter, calling it “a dream come true.”

The 2019 NFL MVP earned all 50 first-place votes. That makes him just the second unanimous MVP in NFL history, alongside former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who is now of course with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jackson led the NFL with a whopping 36 passing touchdowns. In addition, he threw for 3,127 yards while making it into the end zone seven times.
His 1,206 rushing yards broke the single-season record for a quarterback.
The Pompano Beach-born former Boynton Beach Community High School star also won the 2016 Heisman Trophy while at Louisville before ending up in Baltimore as the last pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Jackson, who turned 23 last January, is the youngest quarterback to win the MVP award since the NFL’s merger with the AFL, back in 1970.
“Madden NFL 21” is scheduled to be released Aug. 28.
