Savannah Bananas coming to West Palm Beach

The Savannah Bananas are taking their show on the road and one of those stops includes West Palm Beach. The team announced on Wednesday that they will be at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches April 1. The stop is one of five cities on their 2022 World Tour which received of 400 city nominates according to team owner Jesse Cole. Other stops include Savannah, GA, Daytona, FL,  Montgomery, AL, Columbus, GA, and Birmingham, AL.

If you’re not familiar with the Bananas, they’re a different type of baseball team known for “Banana Ball.” In addition to the cast of characters, dancers, performers, mascots and musicians, the Bananas are bringing their own twist on the traditional baseball format to the world tour. Banana Ball has rules to increase the pace of the game and create more action and drama. Rules include no bunting, no walks, a two-hour time limit, fans catching foul balls for outs, batters stealing first base, and a one-on-one tiebreaker showdown at the end of the game. They are known as the Harlem Globetrotters of Baseball.
