“Heat lifer” is a term that is often used within the Miami Heat culture and fan base. And the godfather, Pat Riley, is just that.

Even though Riley had memorable stays in New York and of course L.A. he will always be remembered as the Don of Miami and a pioneer of this team.

That being said, Riley revealed that the Lakers did not pursue him this offseason to run their front office that is in absolute shambles, but even if they did, he stated that there was no way he would leave Miami.

Even in his 70’s now, Riles doesn’t look like he is slowing down anytime soon running the Heat. It’s a position that he takes great pride in and wants nothing more than to make them contenders once again for more titles.

At least we now know for sure that even if another team like the Lakers tried to lure him away, even with LeBron being there, that he would stay put in Miami. As if there was any ever doubt.

After all, he is a Heat lifer.
