An official announcement in the coming days from the NHL will have South Florida slated to host the 2021 NHL All-Star game at the BB&T Center in Sunrise.
The Florida Panthers had previously hosted the game and weekend festivities in 2003.
The Tampa Bay Lighting are two time hosts of the All-Star Weekend, most recently in 2018.
This year’s All-Star game will be played at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis Jan. 24-25.
Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau is the only Panther appearing in this year’s game.
The 2021 game will create a trifecta of high profile events in South Florida including the Super Bowl on Feb. 2 and the college football national championship.
