The National Basketball Association is considering kicking off the next season in December.
That’s the word from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who says the NBA has no intention of scrapping the second half of the 2019-2020 season — meaning the start of the 2020-2021 season would have to be pushed back from its usual October start date.
According to Wojnarowski, that could mean a Christmas Day tipoff.
While Wojnarowski concedes there are several options on the table, he adds the NBA is “more willing than ever” to delay the start of the next basketball season.
