Ah yes, the former Marlin.
If the reports are true, Christian Yelich is about to become a very happy man.
The outfielder is close to signing a new deal with the Milwaukee Brewers that will make him one of the highest-paid players in baseball, sources say.
Fox Sports reports the nine-year deal will be worth $215 million, or $27 million per year.
While the deal would place Yelich among MLB’s top earners, it would still fall short of the salary earned by Angels outfielder Mike Trout.
He pulls down $35.5 million per season.
Have players’ salaries become ridiculously bloated? Would baseball attract more fans if teams lowered salaries so they could lower ticket prices?
