Panthers & Heat Prepare for Historic Conference Finals Run Together

Friday night was quite the night for South Florida sports fans! The Miami Heat held on to beat the Knicks in a close game 6 and the Florida Panthers scored in overtime to dispatch of the Maple Leaf’s in game 5 as both teams advanced to their respective conference finals together for the first time ever!

Both teams are shocking fans and pundits alike considering they entered the playoffs as the 8 seeds and now find themselves one round away from playing for a championship. The Heat will face off against a familiar foe in the Boston Celtics. It’s a rematch of last years conference finals where the Celtics won in 7 games. It’s also the 3rd time in 4 years the teams will play each other in this round. That series will begin on Wednesday night in Boston with an 8:30 pm tipoff time.

Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers will play in their first conference finals since 1996! Their opponent will be the Carolina Hurricanes who eliminated the New Jersey Devils en route to the next round. The schedule for that series has yet to be released.
