Apparently, Carolina Panthers officials aren’t finished making changes to the team.
After hiring former Baylor head coach Matt Rhule to take the reigns, and LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady to assist him, the team has made the decision to trade quarterback Cam Newton, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
The sports writer says the staff is waiting for Newton, who missed most of the season with a Lisfranc injury, to be fully healed before they start shopping him around.
That could come as early as March, team officials have said.
Newton, 30, was due to make $21.1 million from the Panthers in 2020.
Will the Panthers regret losing Newton? Who would you pick to replace him?
