NFL Scraps Preseason Completely, and Requires Face Masks

It’s official, sadly.

The NFL will not have a preseason this year after all.

NFL Network reports that the league and players’ union have agreed to not hold a preseason this fall.

It would have gotten underway next month.

That decision comes with the likelihood of teams playing in front of a limited number of fans – or even none at all – during the regular season.

The league has also announced that if fans are allowed to attend in person, they will be required to wear face coverings.

Some teams and stadiums have already announced mask policies, and now the policy will be league-wide.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed that all fans are to wear face coverings.

Meanwhile, training camps are set to begin next week.

Players and coaches will be tested for the coronavirus.

Officials with the legal and players’ union are still working out the procedures at training camp.

Well, at least we still have a regular season…sort of.
