New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton tested positive for the coronavirus. Payton is the first person in the NFL world known to test positive for the deadly COVID-19 virus. Payton said he didn’t feel well this past Sunday after traveling to Oaklawn Race track in Hot Springs, Arkansas for horse races on Saturday. Payton took the test on Monday and received the results Thursday afternoon. Payton said he came forward with the diagnosis and wants everyone to heed the warnings of government officials by staying home.
Payton is resting at home and is part of the 20 percent of the cases that have no fever and no cough. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league’s primary concern is Payton’s “health and well-being and did the right thing by seeking medical attention”
Sean Payton is upbeat and optimistic about a full recovery and will self-quarantine in his home through the weekend.
