Emotions were high and fingers were crossed in the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. The final four teams in contention for the number 1 overall pick came down to the New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, and the Los Angeles Lakers. No, not the Miami Heat, they were stuck with the 13th overall pick.

Pick number 4 was awarded to the Los Angeles Lakers, who surprised many to have that high of a selection. The Knicks followed with pick number 3 with some disappointment on the face of Hall of Fame Center, Patrick Ewing.

Pick number 2 was given to the Memphis Grizzlies which left the New Orleans Pelicans with the number 1 overall selection. With uncertainty surrounding the future of All-Star Center Anthony Davis, the Pelicans war room needed a break and timing couldn’t have been any better. After shouting expletives and fist pumps and hugs surrounded the room, Head Coach Alvin Gentry knew that impact of winning the lottery.

Unless a zombie apocalypse were to occur, Zion Williamson, a 6’7 Small Forward from Duke University is expected to be selected with the pick.

Zion flashed his playmaking and freakish athletic ability all year long for the Blue Devils. Although Duke was defeated by Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament, Zion was the best player of any stretch and averaged 22 points 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists. His overall athleticism is off the charts and his intangibles make him the highest touted prospect of this 2019 draft class.

Davis figures to be arguably the biggest trade target on the market during the NBA ‘s off-season, but with the Pelicans winning the draft lottery and Zion likely being selected, is it enough to change his mind?

Will AD be traded during the 2019 NBA Draft in June?

Which team can you see making a move for him?
