NBA World Pays Respects To David Stern

The NBA world came out in full force to pay its respects to former league commissioner David Stern, who died on Wednesday at the age of 77.

Stern held the position for 30 years before Adam Silver succeeded him in 2014.

Several of basketball’s greats released statements. Kobe Bryant noted how the game changed under Stern, while Magic Johnson called him, “A great man, husband, father, friend, businessman, and visionary.”

Shaq described Stern as “The best commissioner to ever do it.”

In their social media messages, both LeBron James and Dwyane Wade recalled shaking hands with Stern as they were called up to play professionally.
