Mike Tyson Says Holyfield Rematch is on for May 29 in Miami

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson says a rematch against Evander Holyfield is set to take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on May 29. “I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield,” the 54 year old Tyson said during an interview with Haute Living on Instagram Live.

Neither Holyfield, 58, nor his representatives have responded to the announcement as of Wednesday morning. Tyson and Holyfield last met in the ring in 1997 when, in a notorious incident, Tyson bit off part of Holyfield’s ear resulting in his permanent suspension from boxing and the loss of his boxing license. The two later reconciled on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2009.
