Just when you thought the game and quite possibly the season were over, a little Fitzmagic shows up to save the day.
And that’s exactly what happened after head coach Brian Flores pulled Tua in the 4th quarter and later found themselves down by two points with 19 seconds to go.
But don’t ever tell Ryan Fitzpatrick the odds, kid.
It didn’t matter that his face mask was getting yanked in the opposite direction of where he was throwing. He sprinkled some Fitzy dust on the ball and released his no look pass to a wide open receiver for a 35 yard gain.
The 15 yard penalty for a roughing the passer face mask that got tacked on to the completion set the Phins up for the Jason Sanders game winning field goal.
That game winner gave Miami their 10th win of the season and keeps them in the driver seat for the 7th and final spot.
A win at Buffalo next week and they are in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
But first, let’s enjoy this one. Because improbable wins of this magnitude don’t happen too often.
