Miami Bulks Up Its Secondary with Former XFL Star Deatrick Nichols

A former member of the XFL is diving into the game with the Dolphins.

Miami announced Thursday that they have added former XFL star Deatrick Nichols to help their secondary.

Nichols, who hails from Miami and went to USF, spent a season with the Arizona Cardinals and then headed to the Houston Roughriders, where his 24 tackles and one sack led the team to a 5-0 record before it stopped operating.

He had signed with the New Orleans Saints but was just released during training camp.

The longtime cornerback and safety is the latest of several newcomers to the Dolphins.

Earlier this week, the team also signed defensive tackle and former FAU star Brandin Bryant.

Former Iowa tight end Nate Wieting also joined the Dolphins, after being waived by Cleveland.

It’s time to get some serious work done!
