Kobe Bryant may have spent his entire career with the Lakers, but another team will pay tribute to the NBA superstar who was killed alongside his daughter in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
Following the news, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban announced that they would retire his jersey number.
“Kobe’s legacy transcends basketball, and our organization has decided that the number 24 will never again be worn by a Dallas Maverick.” The last Mavs player to wear that number was Richard Jefferson in 2015.
The Lakers retired No. 24, as well as Kobe’s No. 8, which he wore from 1996 to 2006, back in 2017 after the five-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star selection hung up his sneakers.
How else should the league pay tribute to Kobe Bryant?
