Well, the Marlins’ celebration was short-lived.
On Friday, the team got past the Yankees, 4-3 in 10 innings in Game 6, to ensure their first trip to the playoffs in 17 years.
The next day, things got flipped around.
Miami dropped Saturday’s game 10-4 at Yankee Stadium, thanks to DJ LeMahieu’s three runs, according to Reuters and Field Level Media.
The second baseman was good for a two-run double in the sixth inning, followed by an RBI single in the next.
Luke Voit, Tyler Wade and Aaron Hicks also proved their worth on Saturday.
Precious catch.

However, it was Giancarlo Stanton who help New York catch up as they were behind, 3-0, with an RBI double.
The Yankees got back into the “swing” of things, 3-2, in the fifth, before Hicks helped them take the lead in the sixth inning with a 2-1 sinker from Stephen Tarepley.
Meanwhile, Matt Joyce gave Miami three hits and an RBI single.
Still, it wasn’t enough.
The Marlins and Yankees face off again Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET.
Can Miami recapture that Friday vibe?
