The American batting champ is coming to Miami in a trade with the Twins.
The Marlins traded pitcher Pablo Lopez, prospects Jose Salas and Byron Chourio in exchange for all-star Luis Arraez.
The 25-year-old had his best season last year with Minnesota slashing .316/.375/.420 with a .795 OPS last season. He had just eight home runs but tallied 31 doubles.
The trade will move Jazz Chisolm to center field, Marlins GM Kim Ng said.
Lopez made 32 starts for the Marlins last season, with a 3.75 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 174 strikeouts and 53 walks in 180 innings.
