Marchment signs with Dallas, Giroux with Ottawa

Free agency began Wednesday in the NHL and the Panthers lost two key contributors from last years squad.

Breakout star Mason Marchment signed a 4 year deal with the Stars that will pay him just over $4 million annually.

The 27-year-old set career highs in goals (18), assists (29), points (47) plus-minus (+29) and games played (54) this season.

Giroux came to the Panthers in a trade deadline deal from Philadelphia. His contract with Ottawa is 3 years with a annual average of $6.5 million per year.
