A 34-year-old Florida man has been arrested after he shot his brother in the head because his brother allegedly told him that he wanted to die.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 7:00 pm in Gainesville.

According to the report, the victim told his brother Robert Brown, and his roommate that he no longer wished to live.

Authorities say that’s when Brown took out a gun and shot the victim in the head.

The victim was then rushed to UF Health Shands with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

Brown admitted to firing the gun but said he fired the weapon to scare his brother and realized his mistake when he saw his brother’s head go back.

Brown has since been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He remains in jail on a $750,000 bond.
