Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is reportedly done for the year after suffering an elbow injury that will require season-ending surgery.
On Monday, Big Ben underwent an MRI on his right elbow, and doctors determined that surgery was required.
The Steelers were already thin at QB after trading backup Josh Dobbs to the Jaguars last week. Mason Rudolph will take over as Pittsburgh’s starter.
Meanwhile, in New Orleans.
The Saints will have to get by without Drew Brees for a while, with future Hall of Famer expected to miss at least six weeks with a thumb injury.
Brees has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his right thumb after a collision with the Rams’ Aaron Donald on Sunday.
He’s expected to miss about six weeks.
The team could potentially place Brees on IR, which would make him eligible to return after their Week 9 bye week.
In the meantime, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill will handle QB duties.
Does this spell doom for both teams chances this season?
