FAU Head Football Coach Lane Kiffin says his Owls are preparing for Hurricane Dorian, but he still expects them to play this Saturday’s home opener against UCF.

Kiffin said on Sunday afternoon, “We have not discussed at all not playing Saturday.”

He and the team returned home from Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday night, following a 45-21 loss.

Kiffin added that FAU may practice this week at the Dolphins’ indoor training facility in Davie, if weather conditions require it. The Owls normally practice on two outdoor fields at the on-campus Tom Oxley Athletic Center.

FAU athletic director Brian White said last week that he and UCF have not discussed the possibility of postponing the game. White’s older brother, Danny, serves as UCF’s athletic director.

Saturday’s game against the Knights is expected to have one of the largest home crowds in the history of FAU Stadium.

FAU and UCF share a common bye week this year, as both teams have the weekend of November 16 off.
