The Shula Bowl Trophy is coming back to Boca Raton.
FAU has dominated this long time rivalry vs FIU so much in fact the they have outscored the Panthers 176-58 in their 4-game winning streak.
Javion Posey, who made his first career start, led the way through the air and especially on the ground as his 140 yards rushing were the most in FAU history. Posey’s historic day was capped off with a superman like TD run in the 4th quarter which gave the Owls a 38-13 lead. He was named the Shula Bowl MVP.
The FAU offense continued to rely on their three-headed monster rushing attack as RB’s Malcolm Davidson, BJ Emmons, and James Charles combined for 230 yards on the ground.
The Owls defense also had its bright spots as Leighton McCarthy, Evan Anderson, and Caliph Brice provided constart pressure on FIU QBs Stone Norton and Max Bortenschlager.
FAU improved to (4-1) for the first time in team history and will prepare to face UMass next Friday at 8pm!
