Japan is delaying the 2020 Olympics until next year.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said today he’s reached an agreement with the International Olympic Committee to delay the games for about a year due to the current global coronavirus pandemic.
Different US teams such as Swimming and Track and Field had already come out within the past few days voicing their concern over holding the games in July.
They had gone as far as to say that they would not participate if the IOC and Japan decided to move forward with games.
Now that is a moot point with the official announcement that the games will not be held until at least 2021.
