A group of local residents have had it with the local mask mandate, and they’re letting officials know their frustration in more ways than one.
On Saturday, “Reopen South Florida,” which consists of people from around our region, took to the streets of Delray Beach to protest last week’s extension of the county’s facial covering mandate.
Commissioners on Tuesday extended the requirement until November 22.
According to a report from our news partner, WPTV NewsChannel 5, Saturday’s march drew to a close as the participants held a ceremony to burn masks at the Delray Beach Pavilion.

However, the effort doesn’t stop there.
“Reopen South Florida” is asking Gov. Ron DeSantis to intervene by preventing local commissioners from continuing the mask mandate.
The governor’s office has not responded thus far.
