Gov. Ron DeSantis said he will push to keep the annual rivalry game between Florida State and the University of Florida, saying yesterday that keeping the huge game will be good for the state.
“We do have a situation coming up where we’re going to have a college football season without Florida playing Florida State,” DeSantis said.
“It’s an epic rivalry, and if you’re able to play, you’re able to play, and so let’s give the fans what they want.”
The two teams have played each other every year since 1958, but of course would not play this season, as of now, due to the Covid-19 restrictions placed on out of conference games.
Here’s to hoping the Governor gets it done!
