Governor Ron DeSantis has sign an executive order to move most of Florida into the Phase 3 reopening process.
The announcement was made Friday afternoon during a press conference in St. Petersburg, Florida.
In phase three, restaurants will be able to operate at a minimum of 50% of their capacity regardless of what guidelines are in place:
” The order that I’m signing today will guarantee restaurants operate, will not allow, closures,” DeSantis said during the conference. “There will not be limitations from the state of Florida.”
Along with the announcement, the Governor also suspended all city and county mask related fines.
The announcement, however, created some confusion in Palm Beach County which remains in a slowed Phase Two.
According to leaders, Palm Beach County will begin the full Phase Two reopening process on September 25th.
Auditoriums, bingo, parlors, comedy clubs, concert and playhouses will all be able to reopen at 50% capacity.
On October 5th, Bars, hookah lounges, cigar shops, and other establishments that allow smoking will be allowed to reopen.
Palm Beach County Mayor, Dave Kerner is expected to hold a press conference on Friday at 4:00 pm.
