A Central Florida man has been arrested after he called the police to report that he found a dead body all because he needed a ride home.
46-year-old Jermaine Williams was arrested early Friday at the McDonald’s on 5th Street in Winter Haven.
Authorities say when they arrived to the establishment, they did not find a dead body, however, they did find Williams sitting on a curb and waiting for them. Williams then confessed that he made the call because he needed a ride home.
It was later discovered that Williams called authorities several times that night to request a ride home before falsely reporting a body.
He has been arrested and charged with misuse of 911. He is currently being held at the Polk County Jail.
