The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team put on an offensive clinic in a blowout 101-73 victory over Rice on Thursday night. With the win, the Owls capture the outright Conference USA Regular Season Championship, after already clinching at least a share of the title at home on Saturday. This blowout win seals the deal as an outright title, and FAU (27-3, 17-2 C-USA) will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming C-USA Tournament, taking place in Frisco Texas next week.

The Owls’ offense exploded, knocking down a season-high 17 3-pointers on 36 attempts (47.2%). FAU also shot over 50% from the field as a team, going 39-of-73 (53.4%) from the floor. The Owls wasted no time in grabbing command of this game, grabbing a 26-10 lead in the first eight minutes of the game.

Only one more regular season game is on the docket for FAU, as the Owls will travel to Ruston to take on Louisiana Tech on Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. eastern. The Conference USA Championship Tournament takes place in Frisco from March 9-11.
