The Owls have advanced to their first ever conference USA title game after defeating the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee St. 68-65.
FAU led the whole way, including a 16 point first half lead, but Mid Tennessee St would not back down. The Blue Raiders battled back and had a chance to take the lead with only seconds remaining, but the FAU defense held strong and took a three point lead, hitting two free throws with 2 second remaining. Middle Tennessee then missed their last second 3 point attempt to the game, giving the Owls their school record 30th victory of the season.
They will go for the conference championship on Saturday night at 8 when they face the winner of the UAB – North Texas game.
