After spending the last few weeks in intensive care, former NFL star Peyton Hillis has been released from the hospital, his girlfriend announced over the weekend.
“God is so good!” Angela Cole writes on Instagram. “Peyton has been discharged from the hospital. The amount of love and gratitude I have for the incredible team that took care of Peyton is indescribable.” The post is accompanied by a photo that shows a smiling Hillis and Cole surrounded by a medical team in his room at Pensacola’s Baptist Hospital.
Hillis had been hospitalized since January 5th, when he and his sister saved his children from drowning. At one point during his hospital stay, the former athlete needed a ventilator to stay alive, doctors have revealed.
