Elderly couple drown in boating accident

Golden Ripples in the water

Officials with the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge are reporting that an elderly couple who were found floating in the water accidently drowned while either boating or fishing in the area.

The Boca Raton couple identified as 76-year-old Archer Adams III and his wife 76-year-old Paula Adams were found by another boater on Saturday who first noticed the unoccupied boat and then the couple floating in the water according to a report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

When Coral Springs fire-rescue crews arrived, they pronounced the couple dead at the scene.

It is still unclear how the couple ended up in the water.
