Dwyane Wade reveals that he and LeBron almost chose another team over Miami

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade won two championships together with the Miami Heat, but Wade says they almost ended up in Chicago instead.

During an appearance on the Knuckleheads Podcast, Wade said he and LeBron definitely wanted to team up in 2010 and considered both New York and Chicago before settling on Miami.

So why Miami? Wade says the Bulls wouldn’t have been able to afford Chris Bosh, the key third piece in their championship run. That trio would reach the NBA Finals four straight years, winning it all in 2012 and 2013.

It’s also a darn good thing Pat Riley was smart enough to have the forethought to clear cap space and save money two years beforehand.

Would LeBron have won the same number of titles in Chicago? What are some other great NBA ‘what-ifs’?
