
The Miami Dolphins hosted the New England Patriots to kick off the NFL season of 2022.
With 4:05 left in the first quarter, the Dolphins scored 3 points with a field goal by kicker Jason Sanders.
In the second quarter, linebacker Melvin Ingram was able to recover a fumble and take the ball in for a touchdown, with Sanders kicking a successful field goal, bringing the Dolphins up to 10 points.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught a 42-yard pass from quarterback Tua Tegovailoa, and with the extra point from Sanders, the Dolphins had a lead on the Patriots of 17-0, shutting out the Patriots in the first half.

The third quarter saw the Patriots gain their first touchdown when running back Ty Montgomery caught a 6-yard pass from quarterback Mac Jones. After a successful field goal from kicker Nick Folk, the score was Dolphins 17, Patriots 7.
The Dolphins were able to get the ball down to the field goal for Sanders to score another 3 points, bringing the Dolphins up to 20.
The Dolphins’ defense held off the Patriots, leaving the final score in the 4th quarter Dolphins 20, Patriots 7. Head coach Mike McDaniel had a nice speech in the locker room after the game too and the players definitely had a good time with it…
