It was a rough day at the office for Brian Cahsman, and it had nothing to do with baseball.
Connecticut cops came across a Jeep that was reported to be stolen last Friday. Not taking any chances after hearing of someone with a gun driving a similar vehicle, they pulled him over, drawing their weapons.
Behind the wheel was Brian Cashman, who did have his stolen car recovered and informed the police, who unfortunately forgot to update their database.
According to body camera footage obtained by TMZ Sports, while settling the situation, one of the officers believed he recognized Cashman, who replied, “I’m the GM of the New York Yankees.”
The officer apologized and sent Cashman on his way, who says, “I have high respect for all law enforcement. They do an amazing job whether you’re in Connecticut and New York City — and sometimes unique circumstances can occur.”
