On the same day the Washington Redskins became the ‘Washington Football Team’, the Cleveland Indians could be the next pro sports team to change its name.

On Thursday, team owner Paul Dolan said he would be meeting with Native American leaders to “better understand their perspectives” on the subject.

The Indians retired the controversial ‘Chief Wahoo’ logo in 2018, and manager Terry Francona has already suggested it’s “time to move forward” with a name change.

Any change would likely wait until at least next season.

Should the Indians change their name? What about team nicknames like ‘Braves’ or ‘Chiefs’?
