Clemson Tigers starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for coronavirus and will not play tomorrow (Saturday) against Boston College.
Lawrence is considered by many to be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season and is the projected number 1 overall draft pick in April’s draft.
He posted a message to fans on Twitter saying, “my symptoms have been relatively mild.” Then added, “the only thing that hurts is missing an opportunity to be with my teammates this weekend.”
Due to the ACC covid protocol, Lawrence must quarantine for 10 days, which would put next Saturday’s match up against #4 Notre Dame in jeopardy.
Although, it is being reported that Clemson is saying even though Trevor’s positive test was announced Thursday, he actually tested positive on Wednesday. If that is the case, he would make it back just in time for the big game against the Irish.
