It’s no surprise that retired NBA player Channing Frye would be on the LeBron side of the G.O.A.T debate; he came to Cleveland in 2016 when LeBron carried the Cavaliers to the Finals and overturned the Warriors.
But Frye is getting ripped on Twitter for basically saying that NBA legend Michael Jordan was just there “to score” and nothing more.
Frye said on his Trailblazers podcast that Jordan “had only really one job and that was to score but I don’t feel like his way of winning would translate to what it is now. Guys wouldn’t want to play with him.” C
heck out some tweets directed at Frye after:
A picture of Jim Carrey’s Dumb and Dumber character with the caption “Channing Frye taking over Twitter hot takes.”
“Weak ass Channing Frye would get mentally destroyed by MJ if he was on his team. Some guys can’t handle that kind of motivation.”
“Maybe Channing Frye was right. MJ did only have one job…and that job was to win!”
Was this an example of a new generation of NBA players with weaker mentalities? Or do you think Frye is an outlier here?
