
For the second straight week, the FAU Owls will not be able to play their first game of the season due to the coronavirus.
This time, though it has nothing to do with the Owls, but with their opponent instead.
The Bulls of USF announced earlier today that they had suspended all football operations due to concerns surrounding possible exposure to the virus and symptoms.
And now, only a few hours later, the decision has been made to postpone this weekend’s game.
It was supposed to be FAU’s home opener and would have acted as the season opener with the postponement of their game against Georgia Southern last week.
For USF, the covid concerns come after their loss to Notre Dame this past Saturday.
That contest against the Irish came up as a cause of concern considering the fact that Notre Dame announced positive cases yesterday and that they would have to postpone their game against Wake Forest this Saturday.
There is no word yet on any make up dates for the Owl’s game against USF or Georgia Southern.
FAU’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at home against Charlotte.
