Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters was scratched from Laker’s game Friday night labeled as “illness” but now we know the reason.
FOX Sports 640’s very own Andy Slater broke the story:
SLATER SCOOP: A Miami Heat player had a medical emergency on their flight from Phoenix to Los Angeles on Thursday night, according to sources.
A Heat spokesman told me the team cannot comment due to medical confidentially laws.

Waiters was unconscious when the plane landed and Slater was able to scoop more information as to why.
UPDATE: Dion Waiters is the Heat player who had medical emergency on team plane, I’ve confirmed.
Waiters overdosed on “gummies,” sources say, and was passed out when plane landed.
He had a seizure when he was finally woken up, I’m told.
Waiters was listed out tonight (illness)

Apparently, the gummies were a bit much for the guard to handle and required him to sit the night, once again.
Waiters has already missed nine games this season after President Pat Riley suspended him for “conduct detrimental to the team.”
Waiters, this year, would receive a $1.1 million bonus if he appears in 70 of the team’s 82 games this season.
