One of the greatest soccer legends of all-time, Pele, died Thursday after a battle with colon cancer. He was 82.

Born Edson Arantes do Nascimiento in Bauru, Sao Paulo, Pele won three World Cups with Brazil’s National Team in 1958, 1962, and 1970.

He is the only player to have won three World Cups and was named FIFA’s Player of the Century in 2000. He’s tied with Neymar with the most goals scored for Brazil in International play with 92.

Pele’s daughter, Kely Nascimento posted a picture on Instagram of what appeared to be Pele’s family’s hands on his body in hospital along with the caption: “Everything we are is thanks to you. We love you infinitely. Rest in peace.”
