TAMPA, Fla — Tampa Bay a.k.a. “Champa Bay,” has become a championship sports town with the Buccaneers winning Super Bowl LV (31-9) in front of their home crowd. The 2021 Super Bowl appearance marks the fourth Bay area sports team to secure a spot in their respective championship in the past year.

The Bucs joined the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning; the MLB American League champions: the Tampa Bay Rays; and the USL Eastern Conference winners: the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Buc’s star QB, Tom Brady, won his 7th out of 10 Super Bowls – his first with Tampa Bay – at age 43. The achievement truly crystalizes his “greatest of all time” (GOAT) status and well-deserved Super Bowl LV MVP award. As CBS announcer Tony Romo noted, “Tampa kept the game simple and efficient.”

It’s hard to repeat and last year’s Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, came up short tonight. Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes, helplessly scrambling around on a sore “turf toe,” was held to single digits unable to reach the end zone. The young ball slinger was knocked down eight times by a tough Tampa Bay defense.

A half-dressed fan, with one of the best runs on the field in the middle of the fourth quarter, was more exciting than the half time show with The Weeknd. Unlike the Chiefs, the pseudo-streaker made the end zone.

First Half:

When Tom Brady hit tight end Rob Gronkowski with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski with 37 seconds left in the first quarter, not only did it give the Bucs a 7-3 lead in Super Bowl LV but also it gave Tom Brady his first, first quarter touchdown pass or touchdown of any kind in any of his Super Bowls, win or lose.

Second, the hookup gave the Brady-Gronk combination the most touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo in NFL history with 13…beating out the Montana to Rice connection.

Then, the Chiefs stopped the Buc’s on fourth and one on the goal line, but penalties ate the Chiefs alive.

But, Brady to Gronk again for a second touch, 14-3 Buc’s.

Chief’s make yellow penalty flags rain erasing a Brady interception. Tampa takes advantage of the officiating disparity and connects with Antonio Brown touchdown. 21-6.

Brady was 16 of 20 passing in the first half (80% accuracy) the highest ever in any Super Bowl…with three touchdown passes.
